Sixers Win 2nd In A Row

AUTHOR: Brian G. | IN: 76ers, NBA, Sacramento Kings | COMMENTS: None Yet

Hip Hop Hooray-Ho, Hay-Ho! The Sixers are on a two game win streak on the west coast and it seems to feel rather good! Philadelphia went into Sacramento tonight and really out played the likes of the Kings in a 116-106 win. Allen Iverson and Louis Williams, the two guard tandem led the way for the Sixers by scoring 20 and 22 points respectively. Was that all? Nope, you bet it wasn’t.
The Sixers were down 28-17 after the first quarter, but that didn’t seem to stop them from coming back and out scoring the Kings in the next three quarters. [...]

Check Me: Marreese Speights

AUTHOR: Brian G. | IN: 76ers, Marreese Speights, NBA | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Coming into the league after his 2007 sophomore campaign at the University of Florida, Marreese Speights can considerably be called a steal. Though his freshman year numbers won’t allow you to think that because he averaged little or next to nothing, Speights has proven to be able to handle the NBA game and playing in the City of Brotherly Love. In his freshman year at Florida, he played under the talents of Al Horford, Joakim Noah and Chris Richard. In his second year, Speights ended up averaging 14.5 ppg and the Gators finished the 2007-2008 season with a loss to [...]

Balanced Attack Leads Sixers

AUTHOR: Brian G. | IN: 76ers, NBA, Portland Trailblazers | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Ready, set, go! The Sixers paved the way to a victory last night on the road against Portland. The veteran presence of Allen Iverson and Elton Brand were surely felt with Iverson ending his evening with 19 points and Brand being the high scorer at 25. The beloved Sixers were also able to receive valuable contributions from the likes of Marreese Speights, Andre the Iggy-Dala and big Sammy “D” Dalembert. Speights was able to continue his tear on his way back from an injury with 14 points off the bench, which included a nifty alley-oop dunk in transition from Iguodala. [...]

Wiz Tame Sixers

AUTHOR: Brian G. | IN: 76ers, Andre Iguodala, NBA, Washington Wizards | COMMENTS: None Yet

Unbelievable! The Philadelphia 76ers added another big L to the loss column on Tuesday with a 105-98 loss on the road against the Wizards. In a game that was really in favor of the Sixers in the stat column such as rebounds, assists and steals, the turnover factor and of course free throw shooting actually sucked out loud. The Sixers defense was able to limit Antawn Jamison to just seven points and gave up 14 to Caron Butler. Gilbert Arenas went off for 31 however, but when you look at the stats across the board, they did indeed limit Butler [...]

Sixers vs. Wizards: Preview

AUTHOR: Brian G. | IN: 76ers, Andre Iguodala, Elton Brand, Marreese Speights, NBA, Washington Wizards | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

The Sixers will travel down to the D.C. area tonight to take on the Washington Wizards. With a few close games and a big road win on their resume in Boston, the Sixers are not that far away from putting together the right combination to win some ball games. Tonight marks another evening in which Allen Iverson will be sidelined with the arthritis in his left knee. Louis Williams will be back in the starting lineup at his usual guard spot. What are the keys to victory? Here we go!
First and foremost, the Sixers need to be well aware on [...]

Iverson: “That Makes Me Feel Old”

AUTHOR: Brian G. | IN: 76ers, Allen Iverson | COMMENTS: None Yet

In a recent interview on Comcast Sports Net, Allen Iverson reacted to being diagnosed with Arthritis in his left knee. He sat out practice yesterday and will most likely not be ready to go when the Sixers face Washington tonight. His smiles and up beat personality were a positive though, as he stated hearing the word Arthritis made him feel old. “You could have said anything but Arthritis,” Iverson said with a smile. Truth be told, he will have to deal with the ailing knee problem probably the rest of his days in an NBA uniform. Hopefully there’s still some [...]

Celtics, Clippers Recaps

AUTHOR: Brian G. | IN: 76ers, Allen Iverson, Andre Iguodala, Celtics, Clippers, Elton Brand, Jason Kapono, Louis Williams, Marreese Speights, NBA, Thaddeus Young | COMMENTS: None Yet

Alright, here we go! The Sixers went on the road to good ole “Bean Town,” on Friday to meet up with division foe Boston Celtics. Meet they did and greet did the Sixers. Greeting the Celtics with a 98-97 hard fought victory. Elton Brand showed up off the bench and scored 23 big points and grabbed eight solid rebounds. Marreese Speights came back from his injury and posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. The deciding factor in the big win on the road this time was indeed Elton Brand being the man. His tip-in with 7.7 seconds [...]

Sixers Pound Warriors

AUTHOR: Brian G. | IN: 76ers, Allen Iverson, Andre Iguodala, Golden State Warriors, NBA, Samuel Dalembert | COMMENTS: None Yet

Alright, rock and roll! The Sixers have snapped the inevitable losing streak that seemed would never end. Next on the list? Keep winning! Allen Iverson was solid yet again with his 20 points, four assists and only one turnover. That’s right only one turnover! The 117-101 win snapped the 12 game losing skid in which the beloved Sixers have experienced some bad bounces and a new teammate. Can you blame these guys?
I can’t and won’t. The Sixers have a nice solid core of talent and it’s about time they were able to expose another team even though, mediocre. The Sixers [...]
