Wednesday night marked the second game back in a Philadelphia uniform for Allen Iverson. The results; well they were sort of the same story as his debut on Monday. Iverson’s legs are not there yet and he struggles getting them underneath him on the offensive and defensive ends. This is something that will come with time and workouts. I mean the guy was off for 30 some days before coming back to the Sixers. The Sixers ended up dropping a close 90-86 decision to the Pistons at the Wachovia Center.

Andre Iguodala led five Sixers in double figures with 18 points and also totaled nine assists. Elton Brand and Samuel Dalembert each dropped 17 points, followed by Thaddeus Young and Iverson who had 11 respectively. The Sixers committed 13 turnovers, one more than the Pistons but were out rebounded by a count of 45-32. Ben Wallace ate up the glass for Detroit with 12 rebounds and rookie, Jonas Jerebko added 10 boards as well.

Detroit was led by Rodney Stuckey who had 27 points and the eventual game winning bucket after a deflection from Andre Iguodala fell into the arms of Stuckey and he nailed a 10 footer on the right baseline. Iverson then found Iguodala on the ensuing possession for a wide open three point attempt that clanked off the back of the rim and the Pistons secured the rebound and the eventual four point win.

Game Notes: Samuel Dalembert had 10 rebounds followed by Brand and Iguodala, who each had six. Iverson was 3-for-10 from the field and had a game high six turnovers in his second game back. Philadelphia only managed 12 points from its bench, while Detroit outscored the Sixer bench 34-12.

The Sixers will be back in action on Friday at home against the newly rejuvenated Aaron Brooks and the Houston Rockets. Tip-off is 7pm live from the Wachovia Center.
