The Sixers are coming off a hard-fought 96-91 loss at home at the hands of the Houston Rockets on Friday evening. Today, the Sixers prepare to take on the team from the Oakland area, the Golden State Warriors. Neither of these teams have found the winning ways early this season and are looking to get back on track. Even though the Wachovia Center has been an intense place to watch a game in the last week or so, the fans are really searching for the one thing that matters. A Win.

Allen Iverson scored 11 points in his first two appearances back in a Sixers uniform, but showed glimpses of his old self while dropping 20 in the loss to Houston. Andre Iguodala has shouldered most of the scoring load for the Sixers, but he can’t do it all himself. When will this group of players realize their full potential and just go out and play? Hopefully this evening when they meet the Warriors who are vying to get on the winning trail with young talent and an old school coach.

The very first plan of action that should be on the Sixers’ agenda this evening should be limiting runs. Allowing teams to go on elongated scoring runs has proved costly for this team in the recent 13 game losing streak. The Sixers are prone to experiencing cold spells on the offensive end and that seems to regularly translate into buckets for the other team at a rapid pace. This is a method for disaster. With the ability of Monta Ellis and Kalena Azubiuke to really fill it up, the Sixers need to control their fate when facing a cold spell shooting the rock.

Second, Allen Iverson needs to get into the flow early and often. Running Iverson off screens for quick mid-range jump shots will set the tone early for the “Answer.” Everyone else on the floor around Iverson will be able to feed off of the positive energy and get themselves into a likely flow as well. This will be pivotal in the early minutes of the game because jumping on the Warriors early will likely take the wind out of the sails. The Warriors are struggling and have young talent on their team that really does not respond well to adversity.

Elton Brand, my man. Since you came to Philly it’s been and up and down roller coaster. Well sir, the ride is alive and in motion and you need to take this team under your wing. Averaging 12.8ppg and around 7 rebounds isn’t too shabby. Wait, actually it is. This needs to be around 18-20ppg and 10 rebounds per game. Face it, Samuel Dalembert who is your running mate does not produce scoring opportunities. You on the other hand do! Get into the game, get that mid range jumper on point and lets dominate. If you sir, can produce like you have in the past, this team goes as you go. Starting tonight against the Warriors, make your presence felt and like the other vet brought back to his roots, lead this team and get back on the winning path.

Peace Out Homies, From the 570!
