Manute Bol, one of the most well-respected individuals in the world and former Philadelphia 76ers player from 1990-93, has passed away today at the age of 47.
After entering the league in 1985 with the Washington Bullets, Bol made his presence felt (mostly because of his 7-7, 225 lb frame). Between his days as a Washington Bullet, all the way up to his final games as a member of the Miami Heat, Bol compiled 1,599 points, and an outstanding 2,086 blocks and 2,647 rebounds.
Bol died in a Virginia hospital where he was being treated for severe kidney trouble and a painful skin condition. His death isn’t only felt in the NBA, it is felt world-wide.
