In lightly reported news, former 76ers assistant coach Quin Snyder left the team early this summer to join Mike Brown’s coaching staff in Los Angeles. Since the team has no need for a coach at this time, Kate Fagan let us know that the team will not be looking for another coach for a while:
look for 76ers to wait to fill vacant assistant coach gig (Quin Snyder moved to Lakers) until after Labor Day. No hurry on hire.
This makes sense – the Sixers will be looking to cut costs, and adding a new coach when it’s completely unnecessary to do so given the labor situation will only hurt the team.
We didn’t hear much from Snider aside from a few halftime interviews, so it’s hard to gauge what type of impact he had here.
