Sixers and Blazers went back and forth for the first 40 minutes of the game. The largest lead of the game was only 7, for the Blazers. Still, the Sixers found a way to lose 77-93, the Blazers lead by 18 at one point. Sixers obviously had a chance. But, they kind of started to get cold out there. Couldn’t make a shot.
Thaddeus Young lead the Sixers with 16 points. The other 4 players to score in double digits were Marreese Speights (14), Elton Brand (14), Jrue Holiday (12), and Andre Iguodala (11). Sixers have now lost 2 games in a row for the first time this season. They are win-less on this road trip. The last game is against the Warriors. I think they have a shot. Sixers fall to 3-4. Before the game, I checked the standings and saw that the Sixers were in first place in the Atlantic Division at 3-3. I don’t know what’s going on with the other teams but if the Sixers could win the division that would be great.
Patrick Mills had 18 points to lead the Blazers. He only played 16 minutes. Yeah. Player of the game went to Marcus Camby who had more rebounds (15) than points (12).
I would like to see the Sixers lay off the perimeter shots. They shot 0 for 8 outside but they allowed 10 for 19 for the Blazers. Looking at the team stats the Sixers only won in 3 categories out of 20: Free throws made, FT%, and points in the paint.
Sixers have been looking good so far this season. I’m expecting a winning season. Yeah, it’s a stretch but it’s possible. Wednesday at Warriors.
