2012 NBA Draft Lottery

8pm. ESPN. I still remember watching the 2010 draft lottery. We slipped right into second place after we were slotted for 5th or 6th. Mission WTF (Wall, Turner, Favors) was a success, at the time. Anyway, this year the Sixers were good enough (or not bad enough?) to not take part in the events this evening. Still, it’s an opportunity to look at trade scenarios. Sean mentioned 5 trades that surround Iguodala. In the event that Sixers trade Iguodala, picks may be involved. It’s a slight possibility we could trade into a lottery pick by giving Iguodala to a team that really wants what Iguodala brings to the table.

So keep an eye on the teams. Look at the rosters. In these times it’s fun to imagine and dream of trades that could happen. So off to the trade machine and work your magic on NBA 2K. Have fun building your roster if only to escape reality. The Celtics and Heat game comes on after that too if you’re still following the playoffs. I personally never follow the playoffs unless the Sixers are still playing. So years that the Sixers don’t even make it, I don’t watch it. But now that I’m a sports blogger, it’s probably important I see all of it to better understand how it connects to the Sixers. So look for posts every once in a while containing my thoughts on the playoffs.

So again, the 2012 lottery is tonight at 8pm on ESPN and then the Celtics and Heat come on 8:30. This is sort of the beginning of the off-season for those that are not playing anymore.
