Kwame Brown to Join the 76ers

Looks like Kwame Brown has agreed to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers. I for one have laughed at him as one of my favorite busts of all time.

There also has been an earlier mention of Spencer Hawes moving to the PF spot if Sixers got a Center. Hawes and Brown starting? Ok. He’s signed for one year at $6 million. And then he has a player option for the 2nd year. Again, the Sixers are going with the low risk, small contract auditions theme. I’m not feeling that optional second year though.

But, Kwame will actually help the Sixers. For as much of a bust that he’s been, he’s still a rebounding, defending guy who does draw contact. I’m absolutely nowhere saying that Kwame is the guy of the future. But, it’s not that bad of a deal for Sixers (that player option…ugh).

But Kwame Brown and Spencer Hawes may be starting together at the same time. I’m not going to say what I think because it doesn’t matter. Nothing matters. Go Sixers.
