Iggy The Olympian

Iguodala follows Barkley and Iverson as Sixers to wear the red, white and blue.

Following in the footsteps of Charles Barkley and Allen Iverson, Andre Iguodala will head to London to bring back an Olympic medal. Iguodala was one of the last three players to be added to the roster by Coach K and Jerry Colangelo. So far in the U.S.’s pre Olympic schedule he is averaging 6.5 points and 4 rebounds a game in 4 games. He has shot 60 percent from the floor and 50 percent from three point range. Iguodala has been very pesky on the defensive end with 6 steals and has created plenty of fast break opportunities. He will play a bench role backing up Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant, expected to bring his defensive intensity and quickness as a spark off the bench. Even if he does not get to play alot of valuable minutes for Team USA, the experience could be invaluable as he heads into the 2012 season with the Sixers.

Iguodala along with James Harden and Anthony Davis were the last three additions to Team USA.

Iguodala has 6 steals through 4 games in the pre Olympic schedule and his defensive intensity is what will get him minutes in the Olympics.
