Sixers On This Day of the Week: Monday

Monday is that dreaded “Back to work” day. Sixers went 14-16 on Monday for the past 3 seasons. They faced the Magic so many times, I’m really starting to suspect a pattern here. A purposeful one at that. They faced the Magic 5 times, winning only once and facing the Magic at least once per season. Sixers actually went 6-13 during the 09-10 and 10-11 seasons. It includes an 8 game losing streak for Monday. Jesus. Sixers were dreading that “back to work” thing for sure. But last season went better for them including a 6 game winning streak for Monday. This means that the Sixers won more games in a shortened season than in two full seasons. Go figure.

Sixers scored 97.8 PPG and the opponents went a solid 97 PPG. Again, to put an emphasis on how close it was, Sixers scored a total 2933 while allowing 2911. 22 points. And once again, they scored more points despite a losing record. Look at last year’s numbers and you’ll see for the first time the lockout season and the 08-09 season were completely different.

Welp the last day is upon us. I was going to do “Sixers In This Month” but last season didn’t have November (October games included) and barely had December, so I decided against it. I regret that choice as well as doing this series again but I’m one guy that doesn’t like to quit on a project so Tuesday is coming.
