Philadelphia 76ers Vs Atlanta Hawks: Preview

Game Info: 7 pm EST, Wells Fargo Center. Airing on CSN.

The Sixers will try to snap a 5-game losing streak as they host the Atlanta Hawks Friday night. Atlanta comes in after losing a close 100-98 loss to Oklahoma City. Josh Smith led the way with 17 points and 12 rebounds and will be a handful for either Thaddeus Young or Evan Turner. Jeff Teague had 19 points and 9 assists and has done a great job running the show in Atlanta. Lou Williams will be making his first return to Philly since he left in free agency. Although he will get some boos, overall I think the fans will give him a nice reception. Al Horford plays more like a power forward but can crash the boards and is an inside presence, something the Sixers bigs will need to counter.

Philadelphia found out first hand that the Rockets have a much improved team this season. Houston dominated the Sixers 125-103 on Wednesday night in Houston. Dorrell Wright led the Sixers with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and has been quite a nice scoring punch off the bench. The Jrue Holiday less Sixers back court was dominated by James Harden and Jeremy Lin and hope to get Jrue back tonight. Thaddeus Young had 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and has been the most consistent front court player the Sixers have had all year. Evan Turner only had 6 points and left the game early with an ankle injury, something the Sixers hope doesn’t linger. If Philadelphia can get Holiday back tonight and they can contain Josh Smith, the Sixers can snap this ugly losing streak.
