The Sixers were able to come out victorious tonight against the Wizards behind the stellar efforts of both Jrue Holiday and Nick Young. Holiday closed the night with 21 points and 6 dimes, while Nick went off for his own 18 points to give Philly a much-needed win against the Wiz.

Washington’s Bradley Beal was sidelined with a sprained right wrist, so the Wizards relied heavily on their front court which provided a strong effort. Nenê, Emeka Okafor and Martell Webster were the only players in double-digit scoring for the Wizards tonight. Washington kept the game close for the most part, but the Sixers found success tonight by avoiding their scoring droughts.

Spencer Hawes tagged in a double-double, nabbing 11 boards alongside his 12 points to guide the Sixers to their 19th win of the season. Philadelphia also saw a valiant effort coming from Thaddeus Young, who finished the night with 14 points and 8 rebounds.

Philadelphia will see the Sacramento Kings coming into the Wells Fargo Center on Friday night, hoping to string together a rare winning streak. The Sixers grabbed this needed win before the All Star break and will look to continue their strong play against the Kings’ assorted set of scoring guards.
