NBA News From FanSided

Early this 2013, the heads of FanSided have been making a push for community between the network. We even have a site just for us FanSiders to share ideas and support and more.

I’ve been thinking about doing this even before this season. In fact, I did a little something like this last year on Twitter. For each Sixers game, I shared links to each preview of the game from the respective FanSided site.

Well, that idea has matured a bit.

Basically, it’s a way to kill two birds with one stone. Or something like that. I hate that saying. Anyway, it’s my way of sharing the latest NBA news. But, instead of going to sites like ESPN, NBA, SI (our partners) and other sites, I visit FanSided sites. I link up the story from their site while commenting. That way, you get to see just how awesome our network is (at least the NBA division) while staying on top of NBA news for the past week.

Obviously, there’s a lot of news to pick from so I will be limiting the list to what I consider top news. Most likely, I won’t be covering actual games and scores and such. Just injuries, trades, signings, and other general team/player news.

This post is an intro and will be abbreviated. Since it’s All-Star Weekend, I’ll be linking you to posts in that category. But, expect this post up each Friday. So let’s get to it!

The Rising Stars game was on Friday and Kenneth Faried won MVP. He had 40 points and 10 rebounds. Tonight he is in the dunk competition. Hm. Ya know, this sounds familiar. Oh yeah, Andre Iguodala was a sophomore that won the MVP award for what was rookies vs sophomores game. In 2006. In Houston. And the next night he had a dunk competition to look forward to. Wonder if Farried loses in dramatic fashion the way Iguodala was ripped off (still heated about that!)

Here’s a schedule to look at for the events tonight.

Don’t forget our Jrue Holiday plays in the Skills Challenge. Also, I need to mention officially that the Red, White, and Blue Power Rankings have met their end. No more of those.
