With the second overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, the Orlando Magic select guard Victor Oladipo out of Indiana. This was not a stunner for most fans as Kentucky’s Nerlens Noel did not get select with the first overall pick.

Victor Oladipo is a 6-foot-4 shooting guard that game has been compared to Dwyane Wade. What makes Oladipo such a great pick here for the Magic; they can insert him right away into the starting lineup. Some of Oladipo’s strengths are he is very athletic; he can play great defense, can shoot the three ball, and can rebound the ball.

This past season at Indiana, he scored 13.6 points, grabbed 6.3 rebounds, and dished out 2.0 assists per game. His game is being compared to Tony Allen which is great because he is known as a great defender in the NBA.

It will be interesting to see how Oladipo plays with the Magic this upcoming season because they have already have an established point guard in Jameer Nelson with budding young big men in Nikola Vucevic and Andrew Nicholson. The sky is the limit for Oladipo and the Orlando Magic.
