After two months of silence, new general manager Sam Hinkie made a splash in the first-round of the NBA Draft.

First, it was sending Jrue Holiday to the New Orleans Pelicans for Nerlens Noel and a 2014 first-rounder. Then, it was rumors of Evan Turner and Thaddeus Young being shopped.

Now, the Sixers are reportedly set to hire longtime San Antonio Spurs assistant Brett Brown.

While most accused Sam Hinkie of not having a plan, it seems as though he does after all: acquire young assets, free up cap room, hire a coach that has a player development background.

Well done, Sam Hinkie. Well done.

Not sure if they’re at that point, but there could be plenty of cap room next summer.
