Even though reports surfaced last week that the Sixers were down to Michael Curry and Brett Brown as coaching candidates, people are still being interviewed. According to reports, the Sixers have received permission to interview David Vanterpool, a Portland Trailblazers assistant. Vanterpool coached the Blazer’s Summer League Team and received credit for the development of Rookie of the Year, Damian Lillard.

Add Vanterpool to the long list of assistants the Sixers have received permission to interview. With Vanterpool having credit for developing ROY Damian Lillard, it seems the Sixers may interview him just to see how they could use Vanterpool’s tips to help develop Michael-Carter Williams. From Summer League play, it’s obvious that MCW will have some rookie struggles to work through this season. Interviewing a guy who gets credit for Damian Lillard is a Hinkie (genius) idea. I don’t know if this move means just that, or more, but it can’t get worse can it?

I have no idea who the Sixers are going to hire and I’m starting to believe that Sam Hinkie doesn’t know either. Or maybe this is just another Hinkie thing that we must come accustomed too, the man moves in mysterious ways. Pretty soon, I’m going to suggest that Kwame Brown becomes the player coach for the Sixers, well, maybe just a coach. After that, I’ll put my own application in and bring my Sixer Sense team as my staff. Regardless, we find another Sixers coaching update, still with no coach three plus months in.
