On Friday, the Philadelphia 76ers announced that they will be facing off against the Boston Celtics in a preseason game in Delaware on October 11th. This game will be played at the Bob Carpenter Center which is where the newly added Sixers’ NBDL affiliate, the Delaware 87ers, play.

Scott O’Neil, Sixers CEO, said,

This game is about the Sixers’ and the Sevens’ continued commitment to Delaware and the great basketball fans across the state. We look forward to becoming a part of the fabric of the community and are proud to contribute to its vibrant corporate growth. Showcasing this classic rivalry at the Bob Carpenter Center at the University of Delaware will be an incredible opportunity to show our appreciation to Sixers fans in Delaware, while helping build Sevens fans of tomorrow.

Patrick Harker, the University of Delaware’s president, said,

We’re thrilled to welcome the Sixers to campus for a preseason game. What a great opportunity to experience an NBA powerhouse matchup so close to home. With the 87ers playing their season at the Bob, I know the Sixers’ game is just the first of many exciting nights we’ll have there.
