Sixers to Begin Free Agent Search

Now that the bulk of the NBA off-season is completed, it seems as though the Sixers will look to make some under-the-radar acquisitions. Sam Hinkie and company will begin their search to select the right, low-risk free agents that the Houston Rockets, Hinkie’s former team, has been so successful with. Greg Oden signed with the Miami Heat, and that means there are no more big names on the free agent market. With that said, the Sixers will still likely do their due diligence and meet with a few, although Hinkie would not mention who the Sixers may pursue.

“We have needs all around. We are going to look for guys who can be a part of our future and have a chance, some guys who can grow with our team.”

Clearly, that rules out the older veteran guys. There is no way to tell until discussions begin, but in all likelihood, Hinkie may be interested in the services of young talent such as Luke Babbit or Xavier Henry.

Do not rule out anything. If we have learned anything about Sam Hinkie to this point, it is that at any time, change may be right around the corner.
