Why Thaddeus Young Will Be One Of The Sixers Best Players

It is hard to find any sings of hope with this Philadelphia Sixers team, but there a few. One of them, Thaddeus Young, will have a chance to be the teams leading scorer. The Sixers will be really desperate for scoring, and there aren’t many go to guys on the roster. Young has been an asset for years now, but next year could be the year he finds himself as one of the best players.

It’s no secret that Thad Young is one of the hardest working players in the league. His hustle is impossible to miss, and it is exciting to watch. It is greatly appreciated by fans that watch a league of lazy players that don’t play much defense. Night in and night out Young puts is all on the court, and shows up on both sides of the floor. When he gets out on the fast break, it is truly great to watch him use his speed and get an easy basket. Fans should expect to see both of these attributes from Young again this season, with more to come as well.

Now that Jrue Holiday has been shipped out of town, and future star Nerlens Noel is out until at least Christmas Time, Thaddeus Young steps into the spotlight. In his career he has averaged 13 points a game, and five rebounds. Last season, he grew as a player as he upped his stats to 14 points a game, and 7.5 rebounds. With the circumstances given with this team, look for these numbers to once again be on the rise. Potentially, Young could be the teams leading scorer next season, and set career highs in terms of points scored per game.

While some are quick to say that Thaddeus Young is undersized for his position, his speed is very underrated. He uses this speed to blow by defenders, and grab boards. Between him and Evan Turner, they will be the teams go to scorers. Young has produced solid numbers from a “backseat” position his entire career, so with the chance to be a top option to score his numbers should sky rocket.

Sam Hinkie would be a fool to let Thaddeus Young move on to a new team. It would not be wise to send him away in another salary saving trade as he is still only 25 years old. He will be in a prime position to continue developing moving forward, and he will be one of the Sixers best players next year. Young has been very consistent so far in the NBA, and the fans of Philadelphia should look for a break out year from him, and for him to be one of the teams leading scorers.
