The Philadelphia 76ers’s forward Royce White is under investigating for abusing his ex-girlfriend Tania Mehra. Apparently, White and Mehra had gotten into a physical altercation that led to a laceration above Tania’s eye. This news does not bode for Royce White, and his future in the NBA.

Royce White’s NBA future was already in jeopardy, but now his chances are slowly dwindling. We are yet to watch White suit up as he missed his rookie year due to “mental issues.” White deals with anxiety and has his issues. Furthermore, the Sixers are better off letting him go. He seems to be a head case, and not a good locker room guy. While he wasn’t expected to play a major role for the team this year, it will be best for the team to just let White walk. Why keep a guy around that is really not that good at all, and has off court issues? Royce White has the potential to be an average NBA player at best, so in reality, he isn’t worth rostering. The 76ers are trying to save money and free up cap space so dumping White doesn’t affect them much. Why White was brought in in the first place is a questioning move, but it appears that his time with the team could very well end before it even begins.
