I was fortunate enough to interview the great Bob Cooney of Philly.com! Check out the interview below!

Emily: What was your immediate reaction once the Sixers stunned the Heat?

Bob: While many people were impressed with the 23-2 start the Sixers got off to, I was more impressed that they were able to come back from a 9 point deficit to begin the fourth quarter. I was stunned that such a young team was able to come back on the Heat.

Emily: What does this type of win mean for the Sixers moving forward?

Bob: I’m not sure how much you can take from just one game, but there is no doubt that win will be a confidence booster for the younger players.

Emily: How impressed were you by Michael Carter-Williams?

Bob: Very. When I first saw him play during a Summer League down in Orlando for the Sixers I liked his size and his length. He has a calmness about him that is surprising.

Emily: Both Evan Turner and Spencer Hawes also had outstanding performances, what stood out the most between the two?

Bob: That gave us what the Sixers need from the both of them – Turner taking the ball to the basket and Hawes hitting the outside jump shots and rebounding the ball.

Emily: What were your thoughts on Brett Brown’s playing style?

Bob:  He has said from day one that he was going to have a fast paced team, and that was true. This team will look to run as much as possible with a rotation that could run 11 deep a lot of nights.

Emily: Thank you for your time, appreciate it!
