Michael Carter-Williams Named Eastern Conference Player of the Week

Ah, hasn’t this been a lovely week in Philadelphia 76ers basketball land?

Well, let it continue! Our star PG Michael Carter-Williams has been named Eastern Conference Player of the Week. Not Rookie of the week, PLAYER of the week. So, he beat out players like LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Derrick Rose, Paul Pierce, etc, for this distinction.

The only other player to earn Player of the Week honors in their first week in the association was Shaq in 1992. Carter-Williams averaged 20.7 PPG, 9.0 APG and 4.3 SPG with victories over the Miami Heat, Washington Wizards and Chicago Bulls. His player has catapulted the Sixers to the top of various power rankings in the NBA this week.

Let this honor continue the completely insane week of Sixers basketball, that might just be the best week of Sixers basketball in history. I mean usually, I would say they have NO shot against the Golden State Warriors tonight..but I said that against the Heat, Wizards and Bulls so what gives? Who knows, I’m not going to test my luck here either. I’m just going to sit back and enjoy this glorious ride that Michael Carter-Williams is taking us on. Congratulations to Michael Carter-Williams for just being the best there is, we love you.

Tank on Philadelphia, tank on.

Will MCW explode against the Warriors tonight?
