The Philadelphia 76ers have had a surprising start to their season. The Sixers hired general manager Sam Hinkie from the Houston front office and through four games Philadelphia has the team in 3-1. Rookie Michael Carter-Williams is averaging 20.0 points, 7.8 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 3.3 steals in his first four career games, and Evan Turner leads the team with 21.8 points per game. The future looks bright for this team and thanks to low expectations to start the season, Philadelphia 76ers tickets can be had at a low price. Tickets, on average, have dropped from last year’s prices. As we mentioned earlier this week, the average ticket this season costs $87.23, which is a 8.06% decrease over last year’s average of $94.88. In the post we showed you the five most expensive home games of the year. Now, we take a look at the five least expensive.
1) 11/6/13 vs Washington Wizards – Avg Price: $53 | Get-in: $4
The Washington Wizards come to town tonight to take on the Sixers in what is both the lowest average and get-in price of any home game in 2013-14. Tonight’s game could be an exciting one, pitting young guards Carter-Williams and Washington’s John Wall against each other. The $53 average is 39% below the season average.
2) 11/20/13 vs Toronto Raptors – Avg Price: $55 | Get-in: $6
Two weeks from tonight, the Toronto Raptors visit the Wells Fargo Center for what is the 2nd least expensive game this year. Toronto is off to a good start with DeMar DeRozan averaging 20.3 points per game and Rudy Gay averaging 17.0 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. The Sixers went 3-1 in four games against the raptors last season.
3) 12/3/13 vs Orlando Magic – Avg Price: $57 | Get-in: $9
The future will be on display when the Orlando Magic visit Philly in early December. Victor Oladipo, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, will be leading Orlando and Jameer Nelson will be the only player in the game over 30 years of age. The $57 average price is 35% below the season average.
4) 11/22/13 vs Milwaukee Bucks – Avg Price: $67 | Get-in: $8
This late November game against the Milwaukee Bucks is the only one of these five game to not be in the middle of the week. The Friday night game is currently 23% below the average home game price.
5) 11/11/13 vs San Antonio Spurs – Avg Price: $74 | Get-in: $9 | 15% below avg
Surprisingly, the reigning Western Conference champion San Antonio Spurs‘ only trip to Philly makes this list and easily represents the best visiting team on it. The average ticket is just 15% below the season average, but the get-in price is still below $10. That’s not an expensive price to see a team that was seconds away from winning last season’s NBA Championship.
Even with the early success, playoffs could be a long shot for this Sixers squad. Regardless, this team has shown they could be very fun to watch this season and these games feature the easiest way to see the action live.
