Michael Carter-Williams Continues to Fill Up the Stat Sheet

Michael Carter-Williams stuffed the stat sheet again last night, with a line of 21 points, 7 rebounds, 13 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Our Rookie of the Year candidate did all of this on 9-17 shooting and knocked down all three of his attempts from down town.

With this stat line, Carter-Williams joined Magic Johnson and Dr. J as the only players with a 20+ pt, 10+ assist, 2+ stl & 2 blk game within the first 10 games of a career.

But, wait — there’s more.

Michael Carter-Williams joined Oscar Robertson as the ONLY players in NBA history with 130+ points & 50+ assists in their first seven career games.

This guy has been in the NBA for only a few weeks and he’s already on lists with Magic Johnson, Julius Erving and Oscar Robertson. Pretty good company huh? I think we have something special in Carter-Williams, he’s definitely a Rookie of the Year candidate.

If there’s one thing we can get out of this season, hopefully it will be a Rookie of the Year in Michael Carter-Williams. Regardless of how this year turns out, regardless of the draft next year — if we can go into next season with Rookie of the Year Michael Carter-Williams and a healthy Nerlens Noel, this team will be scary.

Will Michael Carter-Williams win Rookie of the Year?
