Well how about that? We’re at another Saturday and I know why you’re here: You want to catch up on some of the latest NBA news. Well, look no further! Well, actually, you’ll have to look further down the screen in order to actually read the info. So…okay. Let’s get started, shall we?
The Knicks are all over the place. In all honesty, they have too much going on so I’ll just cover one particular story: Seems like Rajon Rondo and Amar’e Stoudemire are at the center of potential trades between the Celtics and Knicks. Celtics would love to send off a couple of veterans themselves.
Last week, rumors were up and around about the Clippers and Lakers being interested in signing Lamar Odom. The Clippers appear to be ready to move on as they are now rumored to be very interested in Chris Wilcox. Wilcox played for the Clippers before as well as playing under Doc Rivers in Boston.
Deron Williams continues to have problems. Right after coming back from an ankle injury, he injured his ankle.
Derrick Rose went down with a knee injury. People are saying his ACL. He tore the left one last year. This is the right knee under question. You don’t tear both ACL’s and come back as normal, do you? Let’s hope we don’t even have to face that question.
Andre Iguodala strained his hamstring and says it’s serious. Hoo-boy! He said the injury worried him but also said he would be back sooner than people think. Kinda sending me mixed messages here.
Off the court
Cavaliers had a player’s only meeting that got kinda heated. Cavs are having a hard time this season.
LeBron James and David Beckham are looking to get the MLS in Miami.
James isn’t the only Heat player doing things away from basketball. Dwyane Wade just sold a sitcom to FOX. The show will be about his life. Okay.
Remember the Pelicans’ mascot? That creepy…thing? Anyway, apparently, a parody Twitter account of Pierre has gotten into a battle with Kings’ mascot Slamson. A series a tweets followed which start off funny but then get a little touchy.
Tony Allen was suspended for what appeared to be an inadvertent kick to Chris Paul’s face when the Grizzlies faced the Clippers.
Mavericks and Rockets continue the battle for Texas. Dwight Howard lost his cool during his team’s loss to the Mavs. He threw a ball at a fan. Well, not throw; toss. Still, it was enough for a technical foul. It doesn’t help that Vince Carter of the Mavs said that Dwight was the biggest crybaby he knows. Right to his face. These two were teammates in Orlando so Vince is talking from some experience. Ah, but there’s more. Daryl Morey, GM of the Rockets, apparently asked for a trade for Dirk as part of a taunt. Yikes.
Lakers called up a couple of guys from their D-League team. Elias Harris and Ryan Kelly
The Kings sent Ray McCallum to the D-League.
