According to ESPN’s Chris Broussard, the Cleveland Cavaliers are shopping Dion Waiters and the interested teams are the New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls and our 76ers.
The Cavs are interested in Evan Turner for Waiters. This wouldn’t be a straight up trade, as the Cavs would need to give up another player to take on Turner’s contract. It would probably involve some sort of combination of Sergey Karasev or C.J. Miles, but that’s simply my speculation. I’m not totally on board with Waiters being a Sixer, unless Hinkie is attempting to collect all of the Syracuse guards on this planet. But, if Waiters comes over with an interesting prospect (Karasev) or a first rounder, then I’m all for it.
Let’s all remember that Waiters is from Philadelphia. Not meaning that he will come here, but it’s always interesting to point out. I’m sure Waiters would be most open to coming to Philadelphia because of his roots.
Reports are saying the Cavs are targeting Shumpert for Waiters, but I don’t see that happening. It just doesn’t make sense for the Knicks to do that, Shumpert is better than Waiters.
Will the Sixers trade for Dion Waiters?
