EG: What are your keys to the game for a Clippers victory?
TM: This may seem simple, but just playing with energy from beginning to end is enough to will the Clippers over the 76ers. Especially if Michael Carter-Williams is absent. They’ve gotta jump on this group early on and never look back.
EG: Are there any significant injuries for the Clippers? If so, what are they?
TM: J.J. Redick’s out with a wrist fracture. Jared Dudley is dealing with a knee injury. Chris Paul’s dealing with a lingering hamstring. Matt Barnes is out with an eye injury. Reggie Bullock will miss tonight’s match with an ankle injury. So basically, everyone.
EG: How important is it for the Clippers to take advantage of a weaker opponent like the Sixers and defeat them?
TM: It’s very important. Often do better teams play down to the competition of weaker foes, but it happens far too often for the Clippers. For some reason this teams gives off the vibe that opponents should bow down and concede victory, but it doesn’t work like that. With their hype teams will get up to play hard against LA every night. They’ve gotten learn to match whatever energy the opposite team puts off.
EG: Who is your standout star for this game?
TM: I’m gonna go with Blake Griffin. With J.J. Redick out and Chris Paul some sort of slump, the team will have to rely on his play to make up for what’s being missed from other key players. Against the Cavaliers, he was flustered throughout the night, dealing with Tristan Thompson and Anderson Varejao. He finished the game with 10 points. That won’t be acceptable against the 76ers. He has to come out aggressive from the jump.
EG: What’s your game prediction?
TM: Give me the Clippers in a close game. I’m not sure the Clips can match the energy the 76ers will come play with.
