Lorzenzo Brown Impresses In 87ers Victory

After dropping six straight and falling to a record of 2-10, the Delaware 87ers were able to pull out a one point victory against the Springfield Armor. The 87ers record now stands at 3-10, I thought the Sixers were supposed to be tanking here people?

Recent 87ers assignee from the Sixers, Lorenzo Brown, had an impressive night. Brown was in control of the offense all night and looked like he was playing with the rest of the 87ers for a while, the chemistry was great. Brown had 17 points and 10 rebounds on 6-10 shooting for the night. This looked like quite the different Brown than the one we’ve seen play sparingly in a Sixers uniform. Brown should benefit greatly from his time in Delaware.

Thanasis Antetokounpo (who’s name I can now spell without using Google), had 16 points on the night, but only shot 6-16 from the field (3-11 from deep). He obviously feels comfortable taking shots from deep, it would be nice to see them going in more however.

Someone who was ALL over the court whenever I looked up was Reeves Nelson. Man, don’t ignore that name. Plus, his beard is pretty crazy too. Like seriously, Google his name and look at his beard. Nelson had 16 points on 8-9 shooting and grabbed 7 boards. Nelson was everywhere, grabbing boards, cutting for a quick bucket and I even saw him drop a mid-range jumper. Nelson will need to have a consistent jumper if he wants to make it to the NBA, but he looked good last night.

You know, I couldn’t find Aquille Carr for the love of me last night. I noticed he didn’t enter the game once and I couldn’t even find him on the bench. It’s not hard to find the 5-6 guy in a basketball game. While looking at the box score, I realized that Carr isn’t even on it. He’s no where to be found. There is no DNP next to his name, his name isn’t even there. I’m not sure what’s going on, but I’ll try to find out.

Norvel Pelle and Rodney Williams both received DNP-CD’s. Pelle is an interesting project with a ton of upside, so I’m concerned as to why he received no time last night.

The 87ers will be back at it again tonight, tipping off against the Springfield Armor again at 7 PM. Remember to follow the Sevens on Twitter to follow game links to watch every game on YouTube. These guys are talented and worth watching.
