NBA News from FanSided: Luol Deng trade rumors, Russell Westbrook out, Gilbert Arenas return?, and more!

Here’s your latest rumors, injuries, and news about the NBA from the lovely writers here at FanSided.

All of the Knicks trade rumors and coaching rumors and be put to rest for now. Knicks owner claims there’s no movement happening. Looks like this team will have a chance to weather the storm. So, if they do fail, then heads will probably roll at the end of the season. We’ll see. Something tells me if Rajon Rondo is available, they’ll go for it. In fact, there’s also a report saying that the Knicks are hoping that Rondo decides to force his way out of Boston and to NY. With the Dolan news, I actually believe this a little more now that Knicks want Rondo to do the moving.

It’s reported that the Lakers, Spurs, Raptors, and Nets are leaders in the pursuit for Luol Deng of the Bulls. However, there’s also talks of a three way deal involving the Rockets, Bulls, and Hawks. Omar Asik is involved in these rumors too. Bulls do know what they want in return: A first round pick and a young player.

While Mike Woodson of the Knicks have have a job, Nets’ coach Jason Kidd is in danger of losing his job by All-Star Weekend.

Gilbert Arenas back to the NBA? Well, that’s what he’s aiming for.

Could the Bobcats be after Arron Afflalo. Not sure Magic give him up though.

Magic are done with Hedo Turkoglu. They expect to trade or waive him by January 7th. Lakers have emerged as a team possibly interested in him.

Injury report:

Knicks will be without Pablo Prigioni for at least another week as he still recovering from a fractured big toe.

Larry Sanders is back in action.

Al Horford is out indefinitely with a torn pectoral muscle.

Russell Westbrook keeps the streak of returning stars that get injured again alive. He’s out until after All-Star weekend.

Front Office:

Rockets welcome back Gersson Rosas as their VP of basketball operations.

The Kings’ ownership have struck up a partnership with an India-based company. Cool. Also, tacos.

Roster moves:

Seth Curry signed with the Memphis Grizzlies

Off the court:

Zach Randolph probably knew this would happen. After criticizing the refs after the Grizzlies’ loss to the Rockets, the NBA fined him $25,000.
