To no surprise, Thaddeus Young is the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played December 30th through January 5th. Young joins Michael Carter-Williams as the second Sixer this season to be honored with this award.

We all know that Young was instrumental in leading the Sixers to three road victories last week, over Denver, Sacramento and Portland (wut?). He averaged 25 points, almost eight rebounds, three assists and four steals over this span. This all came from 57 percent shooting from the field as well.

Thaddeus Young is the longest tenured Sixer on the roster and he’s proving his veteran leadership with his tremendous play on the court. We all know how great of a player and person Thaddeus Young is, so it’s awesome to see him being recognized for his effort on the court.

Congratulations Thaddeus, you deserve this one.
