Another Friday night, another Sixers game in Philadelphia. YAY.
Everything will be okay as long as Evan Turner doesn’t HIT ANOTHER GAME WINNING SHOT. We would be three losses better if he was traded, or injured, or thrown into oblivion.
Here are the probable starters, courtesy of Keith Pompey of Philly.com:
12 Evan Turner F 6-7 18.5 ppg. 6.1 rpg.
21 Thaddeus Young F 6-8 17.3 ppg. 6.3 rpg.
00 Spencer Hawes C 7-1 14.0 ppg 8.7 rpg.
9 James Anderson G 6-6 10.2 ppg. 4.0 rpg.
1 Michael Carter-Williams G 6-6 17.2 ppg. 2.37 spg.
5 DeMarre Carroll F 6-8 9.9 ppg. 5.5 rpg.
4 Paul Millsap F 6-8 17.8 ppg. 8.2 rpg.
14 Gustavo Ayon C 6-10 3.6 ppg. 4.6 rpg.
26 Kyle Korver G 6-7 12.0 ppg. 3.0 apg
8 Shelvin Mack G 6-1 7.7 ppg. 3.6 apg.
This game actually has some relevance for the Sixers. I mean that in the sense that, Kyle Korver, Elton Brand, Lou Williams and Shelvin Mack (LOL) are former Sixers. I’m sure these guys will do their best to destroy their former team. I’m also sure it won’t take much for that to happen. It better happen.
Unrelated, but related:
I interviewed Elton Brand on the phone, about a month ago. We talked Sixers, Hawks and life. Also, what it’s like to play with Lou Williams in ATL. It’s a great interview, of course. Here is the link, if any of you are interested.
Let’s look for the usual things tonight. A good game from Michael Carter-Williams and who knows from everyone else. I mean, Evan Turner could play like poop and still hit a game-winner, so THERE’S THAT. DeWayne Dedmon’s second 10-day contract is up this weekend, so the Sixers will have to make a decision ASAP on what to do with the big man. Conventional wisdom says they will keep him, but I am not one to even consider I know what goes on in Sam Hinkie’s head.
As long as you predict a loss, you are okay in my book.
