The new-look Philadelphia 76ers fell to the Dallas Mavericks Friday night, 124-112 inside the Wells Fargo Center.

The Mavericks got off to a hot start, leading 41-23 at the end of the first. The Sixers made a comeback and stayed in the game for a bit, but the Mavs eventually pulled away and came away with the victory.

Dirk Nowitzki had a phenomenal performance, finishing with 25 points, 4 assists, and 7 boards on 9/12 shooting from the field and 5/7 shooting from the 3-point line. Shawn Marion also had a great game, putting up 22 points, 3 assists, and grabbed 7 boards. DeJuan Blair scored 18 points and had 4 rebounds.

The fact that the Sixers scored 112 points without Spencer Hawes and Evan Turner still amazes me.

The Sixers’ starting lineup consisted of: Arnett Moultrie, Thaddeus Young, Michael Carter-Williams, James Anderson, and Elliot Williams.

Um, yea.

The Sixers’ roster and box score was absolutely crazy tonight. The Sixers had just eight active players compared to the Mavericks’ 13.

Another crazy fact of the night? Arnett Moultrie played 31 minutes and scored just 6 points.

Thaddeus Young had another outstanding performance, finishing with 30 points, 6 assists, 13 rebounds, and 7 steals. Michael Carter-Williams finished with 25 points, 6 assists, and 5 boards. Tony Wroten scored 21 points and grabbed 4 boards.

Next up, the Sixers will take on the Milwaukee Bucks Monday night inside the Wells Fargo Center.
