HEY EVERYONE. THE SIXERS HAVE A CHANCE TO WIN TONIGHT! WANNA KNOW WHY?
Because, they are in freaking UTAH playing the JAZZ. No matter how many games the Sixers have lost in a row (I’ve lost count), the Jazz have lost FIVE in a row people. Well, the Sixers have lost 15 games in a row, but really — who’s counting? Uh, I might be.
But, realistically, this might be one of the Sixers last chances to win a game all season. I know the Sixers are terrible, well that probably doesn’t even accurately describe them, but listen. The Utah Jazz are starting RICHARD JEFFERSON tonight. If the Sixers can’t beat a team that is trotting out Richard Jefferson in the starting lineup, then all hope is lost. We’ve lost 15 games in a row, we haven’t won a game since January, LET’S GET A VICTORY TONIGHT.
In other news, Michael Carter-Williams vs Trey Burke will be an interesting rookie PG battle to watch. Burke is averaging 12.3 points and 5.3 assists this season, compared to 17.0 points and 6.2 assists for Carter-Williams. However, MCW’s rookie slump has been well detailed in the past few months. If MCW has a great game, then the Sixers have a shot at winning, that’s just how this thing goes.
However, the Jazz still have a powerful front court and when the Sixers are starting Henry SIms at center, things still have the opportunity to get very ugly. There’s Derek Favors (12.6 ppg and 8.6 rpg) in the starting unit and then Enes Kanter off the bench. The Sixers have nobody that can handle either of these guys, or Gordon Hayward for that matter. Wow, I’m sitting here talking myself out of a Sixers victory. This one might not be as easy as I thought, but really…what’s easy after 15 losses in a row?
Not much! Hey maybe Thad Young will score 50, or Byron Mullens will score 60 on 60 shots. I DON’T KNOW, BUT IN THIS SEASON, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!
