Philadelphia 76ers Sign Jarvis Varnado For Season

Per Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Spors, the Sixers have signed Jarvis Varnado for the remainder of the season.

Varnado has a team option for next year with guaranteed money. He is averaging 2.8 points and 3.4 rebounds in 12.8 minuets per game in his 5 appearances. Varnado is being kept around for rim protection, since his stats aren’t dropping any jaws.

No idea if this means the Sixers aren’t interested in the four D-League players they worked out yesterday, which include: Kevin Murphy, James Nunnally, Darius Johnson-Odom or Scott Suggs. I mean, Brandon Davies is still hanging around on the roster and he could be cut to give one of these guys an opportunity. I’m sure they all are capable of dribbling a basketball, something that Davies is not capable of.

The 2013-2014 Philadelphia 76ers have come down to a signing of Jarvis Varnado being breaking news. 18 more games guys!
