Well, add Casper Ware’s name to the list of guys the Sixers are working out that I’ve never heard of.
Per sportando.com, the Sixers are bringing Casper Ware in for a workout. This seasons gets more interesting by the day. If you must know, Casper Ware played his college ball at Long Beach State, graduating after the 2011-2012 season. After college, Ware went over to Italy, where he was playing with Virtus Bologna (it’s a real team — not lunch meat, I swear). He was averaging 11.7 points, 2.7 boards and 2.2 assists in 22 games in Serie A (!) this season. He was also the “Legadue MVP” in his rookie season as a pro.
I’m not quite sure what any of this means, or why the Sixers are after a guy that averaged 11.7 points overseas. Ware is a 5-10, 175 lb guard so he doesn’t really fit this mold that Hinkie has us believing in of everyone being 6-6 or taller. He’s about as tall as me, which is concerning. But, his name is Casper, so of course we have to bring him in for a workout.
Ware averaged 17.2 points over his two-year career at LBSU on 42 percent shooting from the field.
Oh, HEY! I found some YouTube video on the kid — enjoy (video starts :20 in)!
