All aboard the 10-day carousel!
The latest recipient of a 10-day contract is Casper Ware, who played his college ball at Long Beach State University. Ware is a 5-foot-10 point guard and was last playing Virtus Bologna (we’re not making that up, I swear) in Italy. Ware averaged 11.7 points and 2.2 assists this past season in Italy.
This move comes after the Sixers decided to not offer another 10-day contract to Darius Johnson-Odom, who’s 10-day contract expired at midnight on Sunday. Johnson-Odom missed all seven shots he took in his appearances with the Sixers, failing to register a point.
Casper Ware should be able to receive some playign time with the injury to Tony Wroten. Don’t expect anything earth shattering (not sure why someone would), but there should be about 8-to-12 minutes per game available for Ware if he performs. He’s keyed as a defensive specialist, something this team needs and Brett Brown loves. If he gets on the court and plays tremendous defense, his minutes will increase.
And the drama continues!
