Throwback Thursday: Michael Carter-Williams' EPIC Debut

Since our stud rookie just took home Rookie of the Year honors, what better way to honor him than as our TBT feature? I couldn’t think of a better way myself.

In his NBA debut, Michael Carter-Williams shocked the world, and honestly, all of Philadelphia. None of us expected this from him, on the night of his NBA debut, vs the defending champion Miami Heat. To be honest, did any of us really know what to expect? No one was recovered from losing Jrue Holiday yet. However, Carter-Williams made that pain go away quickly to the tune of 22 points, seven rebounds, 12 assists and nine steals. Being one steal and three rebounds away from a quadruple-double, MCW almost joined Oscar Robertson as the only players to do that in a debut. Still, Michael Carter-Williams debut foreshadowed the future for his rookie season, as he brought the ROY trophy back to Philly for the first time since Allen Iverson’s rookie season.

Thank you, Michael Carter-Williams.
