Well, for the course of about 10 minutes, things were REALLY AWKWARD in Philadelphia. Remember all those Michael Carter-Williams trade rumors? For a few minutes, it appeared that some of them would come to fruition. The 76ers drafted point guard Elfrid Payton with the No. 10 overall pick in the NBA Draft and everyone started freaking out. Chad Ford tweeted that the Sixers were going with Saric and then Silver announced the name Elfrid Payton. Hinkie cannot be solved.

Even if we all knew that Payton was going to be traded after everyone calmed down, he still had to do his interviews as a 76er. Of course ESPN found Michael Carter-Williams in the crowd and asked him if he thinks he’s being traded. MCW’s tone says it all — he did not sound like a happy camper. There was a small percentage the Sixers would move MCW for Payton, but it all seemed more realistic that Payton would be moved. However, it was still funny as hell to watch MCW be interviewed after the selection.

Of course, the Sixers shipped Payton to Orlando for Dario Saric, a 2017 1st-round pick, and a 2015 second-round selection. At least his time with the Sixers will be more memorable than Andrew Bynum, right? It’s all about perspective people. Good job Hinkie. Now, let’s relive Elfrid Payton’s time spent as a Philadelphia 76er:
