76ers and Rockets Agree to Jeremy Lin Trade

The talks about this trade have been reported for a few days, but it appears that the 76ers and Rockets have a deal in place. LibertyBallers.com writer, Jake Pavorsky, announced earlier that he heard that the two teams have agreed to a deal that would send Jeremy Lin and picks to Philadelphia.

Pretty important to note that this deal is almost contingent on the moves of LeBron James and Chris Bosh. Since it appears that the Rockets have offered Chris Bosh a max contract, Jeremy Lin needs to be moved to clear space for Bosh. However, if LeBron opts to return to Miami, it appears that Bosh will join him. If LeBron leaves, then Bosh will go to Houston.

Like everyone else, the 76ers are also waiting on LeBron James to make a move.

Your move, King James.

does this make the rockets better? They lose Asik and LIn for an aging Bosh….. AND perhaps Parsons. Not sure this was a great off season for the Rockets

    • the great wall

asik and lin were getting paid money they didnt deserve !!! who the hell pays 30 million for bench players ???

      • Kozmo Koz

well actually they were paid 5 million a piece for the first 2 years. Thats a great deal for the rockets who had to give up NO assets to get them….and it doesnt matter…..the question is, will they be better….paying an aging Bosh MAX money? Thats the question/ I question it. I think they are better with asik and Lin….my opinion…their bench is going to be awful and if parsons doesnt resign…..lol…wow

        • the great wall

im happy that the raptor didnt sign !! i never wanted him to sign here ! when i would see him play in the heat i would tell myself dammm that dude sucks… and it doesnt matter what lin and asik got paid the 1st 2 years ,, its what they wouldve got paid this season.. as for parsons hes the idiot thats probably regreting it now becus i kno deep inside that he didnt want to leave houston so his dumba$$ shouldnt have signed no offers and shouldve waited for morey to offer him a decent contract ! if he wouldnt have waited for morey he wouldve still been a rocket! he shouldve been smarter

          • Kozmo Koz

Parsons is getting 15 mill a year. He doesn;t regret it….and Dallas will be better that the rockets…

The rockets will be a 7th seed and out in the first round. They had a horrible off season. Lost 3 of their top 7 players and got Areiza….wow! STUPID….and they deserve it. Next year they think they can steal a top free agent. WHO? and they have to compete with the Knicks and Phil Jackson……they will be better and the Lakers. Both teams have lots of money to spend. Do you think they will pick Houston over playing amongst the stars….not a chance….rockets are DONE

          • the great wall

whats in NY ?????????? carmelo ??????? hahhahahahahah,, did you watch the free agency this summer???? NY was so worried about carmelo that they didnt even TRY to go for anyone else !!

whats in L.A ???????? NOTHING !! NOTHING AT ALL !!!!! even gasol left !! carmelo didnt go to ”HOLLYWOOD”’ were he lives i might add !!

            please listen to yourself !!

houston still has 2 all stars !! i think your getting wayyyy ahead of yourself !!!
you say dallas will be better ??? for how long ???????? answer these questions to yourself before you expose your ignorance and make a fool out of yourself !!
houston lost ””’3”” of thier top players ???? really????? once again you exposed your stupidity !! asik didnt play for more than half of the season ! lin was a inconsistence turnover machine ! but they were ”’TOP PLAYERS”””?????? SMH !!
you clearly are NOT a rocket fan !! ORRRRR your just a complete FOOL !!

good luck in life ! you will need it LMAOOOO
            WOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWw !!

          • Kozmo Koz

we’ll see wont we? I’m pretty confident that the rockets who lost in the first round are not as good as they were. They lost 3 high rotation players and replaced them with one.thats not as good as Parsons. How can they be better?

By the way you’re getting a little emotional don’t you think? and Lin a turn over machine….less than 2.5 a game….shot 44% from the field. Number 2 in the NBA in finishing at the rim. Is he the best PG in the NBA….NOPE but he was the best PG on the Rockets…and hes gone.
The Rockets are simply not as good as they we’re…..and by the way, whats in Houston?

          • Kozmo Koz

Oh and one more thing. The reason why the Knicks didnt go after anyone is because they had no money left…..next ear they will have money.

          • the great wall

thanks for exposing yourself MR LINFANBOY :))

      • Sara Lee

15m for a bench player is a lot, but they are benched because McHale, not because their skills or attitude.

        • Kozmo Koz

I just dont think that Lin fit really well in Houston. He contributed and was a part of the team BUT they made the decision to let Harden control the offense. I think that was a mistake…..Lin will go to the Sixers and hopefully he will start and run the show

        • the great wall

its not mchales fault ! lin wasnt a good fit next to harden ! i dont even think lin is a PG.. hes a shooting guard and the same for asik,, he cant play next to dwight ! its noones fault that they didnt fit well in the team!

      • eddie1234

Your math is wrong. They will pay them $15M only if they stay for next year. But the ways things are heading, when they are being paid $15, they will be starting.

        • Kozmo Koz

          i hope they start

          • http://dc50healthandfitness.blogspot.com/ Drew Corrigan

Cap hit on Lin for this season is less than $9 mill, the $15 mill poision pill only applies to the Rockets if they keep him. Sixers will still pay Lin $15 but only $8 will count against cap

        • Kozmo Koz

No i dont think my math is wrong. They paid 5 but it was 8 against the cap…..this year its 15 and 8 against the cap approx…but yea youre right…the cap hit isnt that high… 15 million is too much

    • eddie1234

Next year, they won’t proceed to the 2nd round. They will be lucky to get into the playoff.

      • Kozmo Koz

no they will be in the playoffs….too much talent…but not a championship team….they should have left things as they were and developed together

        • eddie1234

I think if they leave things the way they are, it will be the worst. If McHail stays, then it is best for Jlin to move on. It is challenging enough to be a good PG, not to mention he has to deal with the worst coach in the league.

          • Kozmo Koz

I agree that hes not a good coach

    • Sara Lee

Worse, period. Neither Rockets fan nor owner, don’t care.

  • mma_ko

SIxer fans … you probably have not watched too many Rockets games. I have for the past 2 years following Lin from the Knicks. Lin is a very good player if you let him play his game, and a great teammate. For some reason, Mchale and Morey have a vendetta against him it seems. Or maybe it’s being driven by an insecure Harden. You saw what he did in that Philly game. Also, he had a triple double off the bench in 29 mins. Lastly, he held Lillard to 0 pts in the 4th quarter in Game 6, until idiot Mchale took him out b/c of his “defense” .. and then Lillard hit the game and series winner after Harden lost his assignment! Lin’s supposedly bad defense is a Houston Rockets slander and fabrication. You’ll see next season, if this trade goes through.

    • Mista_t

As a Sixers fan, this deal would be a steal for us. We get a good pg and 1st round pick. I watch a couple of Houston’s games and you can tell that Mchale does not like Lin for some reason. You are right mma_ko, Mchale bench Lin cause supposedly his defense is bad. Which in reality, Lin is a good defense player. He shut down a couple of good pg last year. If Houston complain about defense then they should be looking a “no defense” Harden instead.

      • mma_ko

he stopped lillard, parker, conley, irving … only ones he had trouble with are livingston and westbrook

        • eddie1234

McHail knew Jlin could not stop Westbrook. He used PB instead. The result was historical.

        • jcsantos

I believed he also had trouble against Allen and CP3, but I can’t think of anyone else who COULD defend them by themselves. Also funny how Lin’s inability to guard those guys get tons of flak and labels him “No D” while Beverley still gets hyped for his “elite defense” despite also getting torn to shreds by the same guys.

    great! gonna buy season ticket
