Vasilije Micic — the No. 52 selection in the 2014 NBA Draft by the 76ers — has decided to stay overseas this season, according to sportando.com. The Serbian point guard is expected to play with Mega Vizura until June of 2015, when his contract expires. This means that Micic will have an opportunity to come over to the 76ers as early as next season, if he so chooses.
The 6-foot-6 point guard has been lauded for his passing ability and prowess in the pick-and-roll. This move isn’t surprising, as the 76ers drafted Micic will the knowledge that there was a great possibility he would spend a season or two overseas.
Vasilije Micic will work on his game overseas, much like Dario Saric, while the 76ers wait for their full team to join them in a year or two. It’s a weird strategy, but we all trust Sam Hinkie, right?
