After capturing the 2014 Orlando Pro Summer League Championship, the 76ers will start tournament play in the Summer League tonight against the Los Angeles Lakers summer squad. After the first few games in the tournament, it now switches to a single-elimination style play, with a bracket set up leading to the championship game.
Teams seeded 9 through 24 will play — and are currently playing — on Wednesday, with the 76ers tipping off against the Lakers at 10:30 p.m. via NBA TV. The 76ers are the 16 seed and the Lakers are the 17 seed, both teams enter play with a 1-2 record.
If the 76ers are victorious tonight, they will move on to face the Chicago Bulls — who have a 3-0 record and are the No. 1 seed — on Thursday at 10:30 p.m. If the 76ers lose tonight, they will be played in another consolation bracket, which will have them play the winner of the Denver Nuggets vs D-League Select Team.
For the 76ers, K.J. McDaniels remains unavailable, along with Jordan McRae. Both are rehabbing ankle injuries. Nerlens Noel should be available for play, but his status is still up in the air.
Once again, the game against the Lakers will tip off at 10:30 p.m. on NBA TV.
