Apparently there are whispers around the NBA that the 76ers have piqued interest in Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard Dion Waiters, who is from Philadelphia. According to Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio, he is hearing about a third team that would become involved in a deal to send Kevin Love to Cleveland. It also remains likely that Thaddeus Young could end up in Minnesota — poor guy.
Waiters is from Philadelphia and is only 22-years-old at this time. He’s still on a rookie scale contract which is due to pay him around $4 million next season. Are we all ready to hop on the Dion Waiters to Philadelphia train? He’s caused a lot of problems in Cleveland’s locker room, but who knows what would happen in Philly.
The 76ers might be smart to see if a change of scenery, especially coming home, would do good for Dion Waiters.
Waiters has averaged 15.3 points on 42 percent shooting in two seasons. He’s a 34 percent shooter from deep for his career. He doesn’t offer much outside of scoring, but that’s something that the 76ers need desperately.
