Anthony Bennett Was Never Coming to Philadelphia 76ers

For a few weeks, it was rumored that the Philadelphia 76ers would receive Anthony Bennett in exchange for the services of Thaddeus Young. Most of Philadelphia believed the reports, us included. We started to get excited about Bennett, a little too excited, prematurely.

Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune reported that Flip Saunders, T’Wolves coach, was never giving up Bennett in exchange for Thaddeus Young.

Looking back, it seems a little ridiculous that a team would give up a former No. 1 overall pick after one season for one year of Thaddeus Young. Now we know that Anthony Bennett coming to Philadelphia was nothing more than a pipe dream.
