The 76ers are a team that is attempting to build something special. When a basketball team is being built, one of the most important aspects is team chemistry. This is especially true with young talent that has the potential to blossom into stardom. These players need cohesion on and off the court to truly reach the top.
The 76ers have accumulated an interesting crop of young talent in Michael Carter-Williams, Nerlens Noel and Joel Embiid. Michael Carter-Williams finished off a tremendous rookie season by winning Rookie of the Year. Nerlens Noel missed all of 2013 rehabbing an ACL injury, but he looked like a player that can be a defensive anchor for years to come in Summer League. Then, there’s Joel Embiid, the 76ers third overall pick this year that will be sidelined for a good portion of the year — if not all — with a foot injury.
Even though it might take a year or so for all three to get on the court together, they are already working on building chemisty with each other. Michael Carter-Williams posted this picture of the three working out together this morning. It’s just a picture, but a picture can speak a thousand words, correct? Well, if everything goes accordingly, then we might look back on this picture in a few years and realize how important it was.
