Philadelphia 76ers fans went crazy on Tuesday night. Really, they had every right to go absolutely nuts after sitting through three truly painful seasons of basketball. It all paid off, as the Sixers finally obtained the first overall pick in the NBA Draft.

Sam Hinkie was not able to stick with the team all the way through to see his plan come to fruition, but many of us still have him in our thoughts. The team is in Bryan Colangelo’s control now, but much of what he does is thanks to the arsenal of assets Hinkie built up for him over the years. So, you’re welcome, Bryan!

Moving forward, there’s a lot of questions about what will come of the first overall pick. To many outsiders, the result is obvious: Pick Ben Simmons or Brandon Ingram and watch your franchise immediately change.

Not so fast.

With Bryan Colangelo, drafting hasn’t always been his strong suit. He hasn’t always drafted well, or made good use of lottery picks. There’s reasons for fans to be skeptical of what comes next with the team’s first overall pick.

Luckily, Colangelo has hired Ned Cohen and Marc Eversley to help out with running the team. They may act as a general manager duo under Colangelo, and will advise him to be smart with the top overall pick.

There’s several scenarios that can play out with the top pick. Some are much more likely than others.
