In a surprise mention on twitter, Max Rappaport Endorses Dragen Bender

Shades of the past. Deja Vu.  Max Rappaport is a soothsayer to the Philadelphia 76ers faithful, a sports writer who has the uncanny ability to foresee the optimal path to take for his NBA team, the Philadelphia 76ers.

He’s now part of the crew over at Liberty Ballers.  He’s returned to the fold over there after spending four seasons defending Sam Hinkie and “The Process” at Sixers.com  website.  But why take my word for it.  He has a style and eloquence with the keyboard that I can only aspire to achieve someday… so take it away Max!

Optimistic? Yes. Qualified to give an opinion about the Philadelphia 76ers? Definitely!

The reason his background is so integral is to allow you the opportunity to properly vett his opinion as one that truly carries undeniable expertise, at least when concerning matters of the Philadelphia 76ers.

And then to clarify, the prestigious voice of the Philadelphia 76ers sanity and conscience went further.

Max Rappaport is our E.F. Hutton. When he speaks, we should listen.  And he says Dragen Bender.  So what would it take to get to Bender?  Well for that answer, I turn to our very own Dalton Lanoza, who posed the question of the Philadelphia 76ers revisiting the Okafor to Celtics trade as proposed back at the 2016 trade deadline.  At that time, the 76ers declined, but that was before the pick was slotted and the prospects were committed.

Now, certainty rules.  Certainty about the Celtics interest in Jahlil Okafor, where their pick is slotted, and who should be there at three.

Perhaps, of all the scenarios we’ve heard so far, the team should pull the trigger on this one.  With the arrival of Embiid, Saric, and Simmons, Bender jumps to the four and we simply need a veteran shooting guard.  Yes it involves one of our longest and most “unfavored” division rivals in the Boston Celtics.  Yes, it places a fourth face onto the Philadelphia 76ers starting lineup in a season where the team was targeting veterans.

But when Max Rappaport speaks, I certainly listen. You may be wise to listen as well.  But most of all, I hope Bryan Colangelo is listening.  This is one trade that would make sense for all concerned.
