NBA Rumors: Nerlens Noel To Houston Rockets Via Phoenix Suns?

Publicly questioning his teams intentions, NBA rumors suggest Nerlens Noel may have triggered renewed trade talks between the Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns and Philadelphia 76ers

Inevitable. NBA Rumors are more of a temperature gauge of the activity in NBA front offices, players and fans. Right now, the temperature is at the boiling point for the Philadelphia 76ers and the futures of Joel Embiid, Jahlil Okafor, and Nerlens Noel.

While it certainly is a difficult position for the players, it was unavoidable for the team.  In fact, its been a difficult problem to resolve because it has been so….. .public.  We know some basic facts, but the reality is that nobody knows with 100 percent certainty  what the outcome will be of the situation. We know that the Philadelphia 76ers fielded calls about their centers, but now hear that the team was never actively shopping any.

We know that the players are unhappy with the situation, but are excited to play for Philadelphia. We also know that the night before Media Day, Nerlens Noel dropped his frustration into the lap of Keith Pompey of Philly.com.

All of the recent tremors have shaken the fabric of rumors which had settled months ago. NBA Rumors which, now with a fresh blast of oxygen, reignite in NBA circles. If a team needs offense, deal for Okafor. If a team plays small ball and needs a rim-protector, deal for Noel. But like a ten-year old in line at Baskin Robbins, the number of choices has paralyzed NBA teams so far.

Or has it? Steve Kyler suggests that the team is dragging its heels, preferring to deal a center near the Christmas holidays, when they can confirm that both Okafor and Embiid are fully healthy.

In spite of all this, trade rumors are heating up again. The same rumors we reported on three months ago have returned, as the 76ers are linked to the Houston Rockets, or even the Miami Heat. This is just day one.  More rumors will surface in the days ahead.

In this version from August 2016, trading Nerlens Noel involves the Phoenix Suns as well as the Houston rockets.  According to Andrew Lynch of Fox Sports, one of the possible destinations for Noel is the Houston Rockets in a three-way trade with the 76ers and Phoenix Suns. Now “NBA sources” are whispering about that scenario again.

In Lynch’s trade scenario which works on ESPN’s trade machine, the Rockets acquire Noel by sending KJ McDaniels and Clint Capela to the Suns, while the 76ers get Brandon Knight and Archie Goodwin from Phoenix. The proposed deal would also see the Suns receiving lottery-protected first-rounder and second-rounder from the Rockets and Sixers, respectively.
