Can Philadelphia 76ers Find 25 All-Time NBA Draft 2nd Rounder?

The Philadelphia 76ers enter the 2017 NBA Draft with 13.3 percent of Round two picks. Might the 76ers strike gold and find a player who make a top 25 NBA Second Rounder List?

The Philadelphia 76ers are staring at the 2017 NBA Draft third pick as the third and perhaps final player needed for a true championship run. Ideally, that player must compliment the playing styles of center Joel Embiid and rookie point Ben Simmons.  And that player must be able to play very good defense.  In fact, that player will need to be able to play on or off ball, guard virtually any position, sink a shot from beyond the arc, and do so with enough enthusiasm an upside that the entire city forgets the near miss opportunity of drafting University of Washington’s Markelle Fultz.

Four Times Second Round

But staring back at the Philadelphia 76ers are four second round picks.  36, 39, 46 and 50 picks in the 2017 NBA Draft belong to the Philadelphia 76ers.  Overall, the four picks represent 1/15th of the total draft.  Of round two, the number represents 13.33% of the total number of players selected.

So if a star will be found in the second round of the 2017 NBA Draft, the odds are good that the Philadelphia 76ers will find him.  And the 2017 NBA Draft is one of the deepest and robust crops of NBA talent the draft has seen in some time.
