Well its official, Philadelphia 76ers guard Allen Iverson has just been named a starter in the 2010 NBA All Star Game, which will be held in Dallas, Texas.
Iverson finished second among Eastern Conference guards, with 1,269,568 votes trailing behind Miami Heat guard Dwayne Wade. It’s Iverson’s 11th straight All-Star appearance and his first as a Sixer since 2006, which is ironically the last time Philadelphia has had a starter in the All-Star Game.
A two-time All Star MVP in 2001 and 2005, Iverson becomes just the 26th player in league history to earn at least 11 All-Star [...]

Bright Spot In Philly
Consistency: Name Of The Game
Okay, here we go! This season has been filled with a whirlwind of ups and downs for this beloved 76ers ball club. The possibility of putting together a solid win streak, the signing of Allen Iverson and nice wins against Portland on the road and New Orleans at home all highlight the season thus far. What really hasn’t been notably etched on my pad if positives is consistency. That’s right, this is one word that certainly does not describe the 76ers and it certainly shows on and off the court in the win/loss column.
For instance, the first area of non-consistency [...]
Offensively Speaking
Okay here we go! We already know to win ball games in the NBA you need to score more points than the other team. Duh! But the Sixers have not always been too keen on getting the rock into the hole consistently. One game the team scores in the 100’s and the next they are held to low 80’s to maybe the 90’s. Then the fluctuation continues on and on. Why is that? Who knows, but from a few visuals and checking out some stats, here is a solution to the problem.
First of all, Eddie Jordan was hired to bring [...]
Sixers vs. T’Wolves: Preview
Post By: Matt Petrini
After an impressive win against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night; 98-86,
Philadelphia Sixers (13-26) will make the journey to the Mid-West to Minnesota. There the Timberwolves (8-33) await for a battle to try to improve their abysmal record.
Allen Iverson has proven that he is capable to score 28ppg like he did in his younger days. A.I. led this league in scoring and is ready to do so again as he tries to take it to the Timberwolves defense. With the current All-Star Game right around the corner, the Sixers including Andre Iguodala and Allen Iverson are looking [...]
Wow!
Post By: Matt Petrini
Wow. Its the only expression that comes to mind after watching this video. Antonio “I’m Garbage” Daniels thought he could handle AI on a simple in-bounds play. Boy was he wrong.
Basically Iverson crosses him up, tells Daniels to get back up, and as he attempts to get back up, he crosses him up again. Embarrassing. Seriously you’re a professional NBA player. How could you get crossed up that badly. I know it’s Iverson, the master of the crossover ,but still at least stay in-front of him or when he crossed you up the first time, just do [...]

For Allen Iverson, the road through the NBA has seen its share of ups and downs. Anywhere from requesting trades to off the court trouble including a famous incident with Larry Brown concerning a practice that Iverson missed. “We’re sitting here, I’m supposed to be the franchise player, and we’re in here talking about practice,” Iverson quoted as he went on a to rant about the topic 14 times. After Iverson 03-04 fallout with the Sixers, he has now rejuvenated his career and as of January 10, he is a projected starter for the [...]
Back From Hiatus: Recaps
Alright folks, here we go. Back in action from a short absence and two solid games by the beloved Sixers. First things first, on Saturday, Chris Bosh came to town and really did do a number on the Sixers. 29 points, nine rebounds and six assists were on tap as the Toronto Raptors were able to withstand a solid Sixers effort and notch a 108-106 win. Close, but no cigar. Louis Williams and Allen Iverson were able to lead the way in the scoring column for the Sixers with 23 and 22 respectively, but obviously that wasn’t enough.
Why were the [...]
Upset Baby!
You just have to love the up and down streaks that the beloved Sixers take you through. Beat a team they realistically shouldn’t, lose against a team you should beat and so forth. That’s the joy of being a fan. Tonight, the Sixers netted a 108-105 win in their final game of a west coast swing against the Denver Nuggets. Yeah baby! The Nuggets were without Carmelo Anthony who was out with a day-to-day knee injury and also starting point guard Chauncey Billups who is suffering from a groin injury. All that aside, like I’ve said before, a W is [...]
In a recent interview on Comcast Sports Net, Allen Iverson reacted to being diagnosed with Arthritis in his left knee. He sat out practice yesterday and will most likely not be ready to go when the Sixers face Washington tonight. His smiles and up beat personality were a positive though, as he stated hearing the word Arthritis made him feel old. “You could have said anything but Arthritis,” Iverson said with a smile. Truth be told, he will have to deal with the ailing knee problem probably the rest of his days in an NBA uniform. Hopefully there’s still some [...]
Celtics, Clippers Recaps
Alright, here we go! The Sixers went on the road to good ole “Bean Town,” on Friday to meet up with division foe Boston Celtics. Meet they did and greet did the Sixers. Greeting the Celtics with a 98-97 hard fought victory. Elton Brand showed up off the bench and scored 23 big points and grabbed eight solid rebounds. Marreese Speights came back from his injury and posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. The deciding factor in the big win on the road this time was indeed Elton Brand being the man. His tip-in with 7.7 seconds [...]
