It is official. The Philadelphia 76ers will have pick 11th in the 2013 NBA Draft. With the speculation finally over, and the draft order set in stone, we take a look at potential selections of the Sixers.

Private workouts and more interviews are bound to take place between now and June 27th’s draft. Things will change; draft stocks will rise, and draft stocks will fall.

Looking at the Sixers disgrace that was the 2012-2013 season, the center position was the clear missing ingredient. While Spencer Hawes is a serviceable back-up and does have value with his ability to stretch the floor and make plays for others, but can not be the starting center of a team that is looking to become a contender in the years to come.

Since the Cleveland Cavaliers won the lottery and will pick first overall, Nerlens Noel is almost a sure thing at the top of the draft. Alex Len of Maryland will also likely be gone, but other than that, the rest is in the air.

Prospects such as Cody Zeller, Kelly Olynyk, Mason Plumlee, and Gorgui Dieng could all potentially still be on the board when the Sixers take their turn. With Sam Hinkie taking over as general manager, it is unclear which way he is leaning. While Hinkie has openly admitted that the trade for Andrew Bynum was a failure, All-Star point guard Jrue Holiday has recently said that he loved having Bynum as a teammate, despite suiting up once.

If Hinkie has a different plan for the front court, whether it be via free agency, trade, or Bynum, the next biggest need for Philly would be a perimeter scorer. If C.J. McCollum is still on the board after ten teams pick, the braintrust would have to strongly consider the guard from Lehigh. McCollum is a lethal scorer and can fill it up from anywhere. If McCollum is gone, the Sixers could settle for a guard such as Kentavious Caldwell-Pope from Georgia.

The entire draft will depend on whether or not the Sixers decide that they want to bring Bynum back and whether or not they think he will return. Regardless, the Sixers will be on the clock with numerous prospects available whichever route that they decide to take.

One of the biggest questions surrounding the Sixers is whether or not Philadelphia should bring back Andrew Bynum. It’s a very tough and risky situation with several pros, along with several cons. He’s one of the most dominant big men in the league, but can he stay healthy?

Nov 16, 2012; Philadelphia, PA, USA; Philadelphia 76ers center Andrew Bynum (33) during the third quarter against the Utah Jazz at the Wachovia Center.
Jrue Holiday spoke to Hoops Hype, saying, “He’s an awesome teammate even though he didn’t get the chance to play. He showed me a lot of perspective from the big men aspect of the game. I do think he’s one of the best big men in the league and having him on the bench and in the locker room helped me to improve my game.” Holiday was then asked if he wants Bynum back with the team and Holiday responded saying, “I’d love him to…obviously, if he’s healthy. If he’s healthy I think he’s the best big in the league, but like I said it’s tricky because of the knee injuries. They actually haven’t talked to me about whether or not Bynum should return so I don’t know. Again, it’s a tricky situation because of his knees, his injuries. You can’t really make the decision just yet. I think he wants to play, he wants to win. He had a winning career playing with the Lakers, winning two rings…He’s a winner and he wants to play.”
